Homeless Woman Got a Job After Months of Searching, Gets Caught on CCTV Doing Happy Dance

I don’t know if I’ve ever been so happy that I’ve started dancing, but that’s only because I’m not much of a dancer. With that said, there have been times in my life when I was so happy about something that I literally shouted out in happiness, so I get the folks who do happy dances, trust me. One of the worst feelings in the world is not being able to find a job. It’s such a frustrating process and that sense of urgency is even worse when it’s been a long time since you worked. When you have that going on, it’s a terrifying situation.

Then, after looking for a job for a long time, when you finally find one, it’s such a relief that you just want to jump with joy, or in the case of one young woman, dance with happiness. Kayallah Jones is a 21-year-old woman who has been looking for a job for a long time. She had been homeless for two years and during that time, she lost more than one job because of the pandemic. However, on September 29, she was offered a job by Dakara Spence, who is the manager of Decatur’s “The Spot.” During the interview, Dakara saw something special in Kayallah, she says. “She had a great energy I felt it as soon as she walked in she seemed really positive,” said Dakara.

Apparently, Kayallah knew she nailed the interview because when she left the building, she was caught on CCTV doing a literal happy dance in the parking lot. Dakara was delighted to call her phone and tell her she was hired. “I called her phone and I said I’m going to hire you and I seen your happy dance so you can continue dancing,” said Dakara. “She was just screaming through the phone and it was just a beautiful moment for me.” Kallayah is officially now a server at “The Spot,” and Dakara posted the video on Instagram, where it has since gone viral.
